How's that for an obscure news title ;) ((

Now that I have your attention we have some great news. This evening (approx. 12am NY EST) we will be moving our files from our File Server to our hosting provider's Cloud storage facility.

(("WTF?!?," I hear you moan. Well at the moment, all files for AWC are stored on a local server which has a few big disks in it. This has been totally adequate for a long time, but it has also presented a number of limitations. As you can imagine there are A LOT of images and videos uploaded every day so eventually we'd run out of space and as a single server when ever it had any problems it really effected the overall site. ((

After a few months of planning and testing we are now moving all of our storage over to a MASSIVE networked storage facility which has the room to allow us to grow and the redundancy, stability and security to improve your experience of the site. I really want to thank Dan and Andrew on our end and all of the Web Air guys for all their hard work leading up to this migration. ((

As I mentioned, we will be making the switch at approximately midnight (EST). We do not expect your browsing, chat or cams to be effected during the switch, nor should there be any kind of outage. The guys have been busy copying across Terabytes of data we have to ensure a smooth switch, however, there are two chunks of data that we will need to catch up on after. All media (images, videos and music) should be up to date from 2005 forward and all of your AWC Mail should be up to date baring the last 7 - 10 days. Don't panic (as the good book says) all of those outstanding files will be fully synced across over the next 48 - 72 hours.
