Beta Site FAQs

Oct 18, 2005

Things to note about using beta:

If you have any issues on beta please let us know.  Please report them to http://support.anywebcam.com.  Be sure to include the following details:

Beta Site Performance
Please note that while the site is in beta it is running on a limited number of servers.  As such, you may notice some performance issues.  When the site goes live it will be running all of the available servers.

Please Note:
You cannot log into both http://www.ANYwebcam.com and http://beta.ANYwebcam.com at the same time with the same username.  You will receive an error message that your member name is currently in use.  You need to log out of the live site prior to logging into beta.

Usernames and Passwords
Your username and password are case sensitive.  On the current version they are NOT.  If you are unable to login to beta, double check the case of your username and password.  Please contact http://support.anywebcam.com if you have issues accessing the beta site.  We suggest you try this prior to Go Live on Tuesday.

Broadcaster
There are now two broadcasters available for use on the beta site.

The current broadcaster has not changed and you can continue to use to this broadcast on both the live and beta site.  On the beta site the broadcaster is started by using your Start menu or shortcut on your desktop.  There currently is no start button for the broadcaster directly on the site.

We have introduced the new Quick Broadcaster on the beta site.  This is a cross platform broadcaster that will allow Linux, mac, etc users to broadcast on ANYwebcam.com. The Quick Broadcaster is located at the bottom of the cam list on the beta site.

Thumbnails
The thumbnails on the beta site are no longer located in a separate popup window.  The thumbnails appear directly in the cam list.  You can now toggle between seeing the list of names or viewing the thumbnails.  To toggle to the thumbnails select the first green button beside the cam category name.  To toggle back to the member names select the first green button beside the cam category name.

Find in Chat
The Find in Chat feature has been moved to the bottom of the chat room list.  It is no longer a popup window.  Select the chat icon at the top of the cam list to get to the chat room list.  Select the + beside Find in Chat to expand it.

Find in Chat is also available by right clicking a cam or member name in the cam list.

Competitions
The competitions are located on the homepage in the lower right.  Depending on your screen resolution you may have to scroll down to see them.  They are also available by selecting Competitions in the menu across the top of the site.

The Archived Competitions are also now available.  They can be accessed by selecting Competitions - View Archive in the menu across the top of the site.

Galleries
The Galleries are located on the homepage in the lower right.  Depending on your screen resolution you may have to scroll down to see them.  They are also available by selecting Cammunity - Gallery in the menu across the top of the site.

Cam Categories
A change is being made to the cam subject categories.

The Male/Female Couple, Male/Male Couple, Female/Female Couple and Group are being combined into one category - Group.

This change is currently live on the beta site.  Anyone currently broadcasting in any of these subject categories will be displayed in the Group category on the beta site.

The subject categories in Version 4 and currently available on beta are:

Favorites List
Currently when you log into beta you may lose your Favourites list.  This will not happen once Version 4 goes live.
