California Wildfire Relief

Oct 25, 2007

As many of you already know, the Santa Ana winds have fueled the rise and spread of the wildfires in California, destroying more than 1,500 homes, nearly 650 square miles of land and putting more than half a million people out of their homes.

Firefighters from all over have been sent to help control/contain the blazes, which have caused more than $1 billion in damages.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.  You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the California wildfires, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster.

Making a financial contribution is the best way to help.  If you would like to make a donation, learn more about the Red Cross or the California Wildfires, please visit www.redcross.org.
