Statement from Anywebcam.com

Anywebcam.com Pty Ltd strongly supports the international fight against child pornography and is pleased that it has been able to play a role in the reported apprehension and conviction of a person in the United States.

The company reported to the police late last year of an incident on the Anywebcam site which, according to media reports, has led to the conviction of a man in the United States of charges relating to child pornography.

Anywebcam is a site which sets strong safeguards against inappropriate use such as constant monitoring which led to the report to police in Australia and to the United Kingdom late last year.

Anywebcam is a strong supporter of industry action against child pornography and is a member of the industry body, Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection, which actively works with law enforcement throughout the world.

A company spokesman today said that the site has been established for about seven years and has a strict code of practice about the use of its site.

"We have about 4 million users world wide and we strictly monitor the material going onto our site."

"I can guarantee that any inappropriate material posted on anywebcam.com will be detected and reported to the police immediately and that all of our staff will do whatever we can to assist Governments and law enforcement agencies in their fight to stamp out child pornography" the spokesman said.
