Site Outage Info

Hi All,

First up, sorry to you all for the unexpected outage today. Basically the power went out at our data center, and when the backup generators kicked in it caused a spike that blew out some surge protectors, causing a few servers & our main router to reboot.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the router had developed a problem with it's storage device & it rebooted with no configuration. This meant that none of the IP addresses or server ports we're known to the router. We had to repair the storage device before we could reconfigure the router. This caused the major outage.

Sorry for the outage, and we've put in place safeguards that will prevent this type of issue from occurring again.
